For Cathy Moss: How to edit pages on LAPCF's website
(Note: the following can only be done on my workstation in room 606)
Open this link on my computer: \\Patcombdc\WEBSITE and then right click on "mainframe.htm" and select "Open With" then choose Frontpage!*** (You can either click the link, or type it in to the address bar of Windows Explorer (Right-Click on Start menu, Select "Explore", then type \\Patcombdc\WEBSITE into the Address Bar)
From there, browse to the file you want to edit… *The start page is "mainframe.htm" and is already open… The other pages are called "index.htm" and are located inside their respective folders. (For example, the bulletin board page is located in the folder "bulboard" and is called "index.htm"
Editing pages is nearly the same as doing so in Microsoft Word. Cutting and pasting is usually all that is necessary. Be sure to save changes before exiting!
Hint: to have text appear on 2 consecutive lines, don't hit "Enter" at the end of the line… Instead, go to "Insert" then "break" then Single Line Break" Otherwise, you will get an extra line between paragraphs... (no big deal)
Alternate Manual Method of getting to the website:
Step 1: Go to my computer (or any computer with Microsoft Front Page)
Step 2: Start Frontpage (The icon is in the task tray to the right of the Start Menu. It looks like a White Arrow pointing up and to the left inside a blue box…)
Step 3: Click "File" then "Open" then click the down arrow to open the drop-box and scroll down to "My Network Places"
Step 4: Select "WEBSITE on PatcomBDC"
Step 5: From there, browse to the file you want to edit… *The start page is "mainframe.htm" The other pages are "index.htm" inside their respective folders. (For example, the bulletin board page is located in the folder "bulboard" and is called "index.htm"
